Material Corrections
When a correction changes guidance that readers may have already acted on, for example, a fix step that could cause harm if followed as originally written, we add a visible correction notice to the top of the article explaining what changed and why.
What We Don’t Do
We do not quietly delete articles that contain errors. We do not alter article history to make corrections invisible. If we’re wrong, we say so.
Our Commitment
Every correction request is read by a human. We don’t always agree with every submission, some reflect genuine differences of interpretation rather than factual error, but we take every report seriously and respond to submissions that meet the criteria above.
For questions about our broader editorial standards, see our Editorial Guidelines.
